I’m now officially on my way to London for one of the, as the image says above, “biggest electronic entertainment events in the world”, the Campus Party at the O2 arena. Unfortunately my girlfriend isn’t able to come to London with me this time because she’s enjoying a holiday in the USA.
So I am on a train, writing this on my Windows tablet as I cruise slowly towards Doncaster where I will then change for London Kings Cross courtesy of Microsoft. This is in exchange for my services to them for the week to help out showing off the latest Microsoft tech and developing for their mobile platforms, Windows 8 and Windows Phone. I won’t be doing it alone though. Many Microsoft Student Partners and Ambassadors from all over the country are also on their way to the event to help out too!
I’m hoping that this is going to be a fun filled week and hopefully get to some of the events going on throughout the week including the keynotes. This is the first time I’ve been to an event like this and its going to be an experience. Especially the camping indoors all week…
If you’re attending the event and are not working like myself, you might want to sign up to the Microsoft Hackathon (http://aka.ms/hackatcampusparty) and get yourself a starter kit for developing for Windows Phone. Prizes for the hackathon include a brand new Nokia Lumia 1020 device! If you can’t get a starter kit, don’t worry. Use your student account to download the tools you need from www.dreamspark.com
Are any of you readers coming down to London for the Campus Party? Let me know and don’t forget to come see us working hard!
