Windows 10 Game Jam

Microsoft Imagine is the hub for everything student related in technology and as well as their famous Microsoft Imagine Cup competition, they are pulling out all the stops to get students involved with Windows 10!

Windows 10 Game Jam

During this month and next, Microsoft Imagine are hosting Windows 10 game jams across the world. If you want to have a go at developing awesome games with the Windows 10 platform in your local area, you can get all the information here: www.gamejam10.com

If you’re lucky enough to live in the UK, you’ve got a chance to get involved at my alma mater, the University of Hull! This is an open student event and is not just for University of Hull students so get yourselves registered! This is a great entry point for your first game and possible future Imagine Cup entry!

The game jam will cover everything announced at Microsoft’s Build conference with the latest game development tools including the very popular Unity. You’ll also get insights into selling your games, getting involved with Xbox Live and the ability to use all this knowledge to create your own Windows 10 games!

Join the Microsoft Student Partner UK Team

Another great way to get involved with the latest and greatest from Microsoft is to get yourselves signed up to be an ambassador for Microsoft technologies at your own university!

Campus Party 2013

UK MSPs unite for Campus Party 2013 in London

If you’re a student studying in the UK, Microsoft are currently looking for students to replace the current graduating students in the programme so now is the time to get involved! If you’re not sure what the Microsoft Student Partner programme is and want some more information, you can check out this blog post from Microsoft.

Alternatively, you can check out my experiences when I was a Microsoft Student Partner in my final year of university and the fantastic opportunity I was given to travel to the Imagine Cup finals last year in Seattle to represent the UK’s MSP group at the MSP Summit!

Get the tools and get started
